Alliancesphere was founded with a single purpose in mind: to help companies make their alliances work and drive measurable results. We accomplish this focusing on what's important: alliance execution. Recent studies have shown that most Fortune 1000 companies expect to generate the lion's share of their growth in the next five years through strategic alliances. These companies predict that alliances are the most important area of their businesses for future growth. Most research indicates that approximately 30% of a company's revenue should be coming from strategic alliances, and in some industries, this figure can (or at least should) approach 50%. Given this data, it's no wonder that Fortune 1000 companies are dedicating great resources to thinking through and doing strategic alliance deals, and such deals have lately been reported in record numbers.

However, despite the widespread recognition of just how important alliances are, and despite the resources that are being dedicated to doing alliances, many companies' alliances programs are failing to deliver real revenues, better product offerings, and happy customers and partners.

We know why.

Most alliances do not fail because they have been poorly strategized. On the contrary, most large companies are quite good at selecting the right partners, and they are also fairly adept at structuring deals with those partners that make good business sense. However, these alliances still often fail, because the partner companies do not put sufficient effort or know-how into making them work in the field. This is because an effective alliance is the ultimate cross-functional process, involving most of the operating groups of not just one company, but of two different companies.

Alliances are not events: they are ongoing processes that are very difficult to operationalize and execute effectively. They require constant adjustment and refinement as market conditions warrant. Our clients hire us to help make their processes work and execute upon the vision of their alliances from alignment through implementation.
